Mets’ World Series Hangover

The New York Mets sluggishly start off the 2016 season following a Cinderella story 2015 season. The defending National League champs are winners of only 2 games through the first 5.

Following Sunday’s matinĂ©e game against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Mets are ranked dead last at 30th overall in batting AVG.

Matt Harvey, the “Dark Knight”, earned his second loss on Sunday with his ERA ballooning to 4.63 while giving up 14 hits, 7 runs, 6 earned, and 4 walks through 11 2/3 innings over 2 games.

With inconsistent pitching, the departure of Daniel Murphy (“damnnn Daniel”), and in the words of ESPN’s Adam Rubin, “offense still in hibernation”, the Mets crucially need to get back in the swing of things before they dig themselves deeper in the loss column.
